FALL CLEAN UP 2019 Limited to Storm Lake Residential Properties Only

The City of Storm Lake will NOT be picking up items from the curb.

Free Cycle Weekend ~ September 28 & 29

Free Cycle Weekend allows residents to place items on the curb in front of their residences that are offered for “Free” to others in the community.  If items are not collected the resident shall be required to remove them from the curb by September 30, 2019.

Fall Clean Up Week  ~ September 30, 2019 to October 6, 2019
Disposal containers will be located at the City’s Public Services yard located at 433 Vilas Road.  The residents of Storm Lake must bring unwanted items to that location for proper disposal on the dates listed below.  Items must originate from residential properties.
The Appliances, Tires, and TV’s requires the purchase of a  Fall Clean Up Sticker and attached to the item.  Stickers will be available for purchase beginning on September 23, 2019, at City Hall located at 620 Erie Street.  

Following is the schedule with drop off time:

Monday, September 30, 2019    7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Tuesday, October 1, 2019    7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Wednesday, October 2, 2019    7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Thursday, October 3, 2019    7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Friday, October 4, 2019    7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Saturday, October 5, 2019    8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Sunday, October 6, 2019    12:00 PM to 4:00 PM




Drop off Items Allowed: 

  • Grills, Carpet

  • Old Furniture

  • Other Large Bulky Items

  • Car Batteries

  • Push Lawn Mowers  (No oil or gasoline)

  • Tires - $2.00 per item (Any Size - No Rims) 

  • Appliances  - $5.00 per item (Remove Doors)

  • TV’s  & Computer Screens - $5.00 (Any Size)

(Provide purchased ticket at drop off  location)


The following are considered appliances and WILL require an “Appliance Sticker” for drop off:

Stoves
Ovens
Dryers
Freezers
Microwaves
Refrigerators
(De)humidifiers
Dishwashers
Water Heaters
Water Softeners
Washing Machines
Window Air Conditioners





Items Not Allowed:

  • No Paint
  • No Yard Waste
  • No Propane Tanks
  • No  Dead Animals
  • No Household Cleaners
  • No Hazardous Materials
  • No Riding Lawn Mowers
  • No  Junk Cars & Car Parts
  • No Construction Materials 
  • (Drywall, Sheetrock, Lumber, Shingles)
  • No Toilets/Tubs/Sinks - No Ceramic/Porcelain Items

Items may be  discarded at the Harold Rowley Recycle Center (fees may  apply)
