Proposals are now being accepted for a Housing Grant.  Information can be downloaded from the city’s web page at www.stormlake.org/publicnotices or requested by email at dutfield@stormlake.org.

Storm Lake, like many communities across Iowa, has a continuing need for more affordable housing.  One of the major goals and priorities for Storm Lake’s City Council is to create, expand and maintain housing.  Through a partnership with Tyson Foods and Iowa Lakes Corridor, there is a $150,000 grant available to assist in the development of housing in Storm Lake. The grant will be awarded when the terms of the grant agreement have been fulfilled.   Proposals will be evaluated and scored on a competitive basis

Proposals should address the following objectives:

1.  Creating a variety of housing choices to include: single-family detached, single-family attached building types, and multi-residential  

2.  Rental homes as well as owner-occupied

The deadline for turning in proposals is 2:00 P.M. (local time) on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.

All proposals must be emailed/postmarked and/or delivered to the City of Storm Lake City Clerk, City Hall, 620 Erie Street, P.O. Box 1086 Storm Lake, IA 50588 with all supporting documentation no later than 2:00 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Email submittals must be sent to cityclerk@stormlake.org. Submittals should have a subject line of “Storm Lake Housing Grant”
