No lawn watering on Mondays for Commercial or Residential customers

By elimi'' ''nating watering on Mondays we are giving our water treatment plant a chance to catch up from the busy weekends.

Commercial and Residential customers may only water between 8 pm and 8 am

'' ''Watering during these times will allow the water to absorb into the soil and reach the roots. When you water in the heat of the day much of the water evaporates before it has a chance to soak in.

No washing of boats or vehicles in the driveway, no power washing houses or buildings

When you wash your car in the driveway the water and soap run into the streets and down'' '' the storm drains. The storm drains drain directly to the lake so water, along with any chemicals used, ends up in the lake. When washing in the yard water is absorbed back into the soil.

Power washing uses a lot of water and is not a necessary activity during drought conditions.

New seedings and sod may only be planted and watered before May 31st and after September 30th

The best time to plant grass, trees, shrubs, or any landscaping is in the Fall. Cooler air and ground temperatures mean less watering is needed and the roots have ample time to get firmly established before the hot Summer months.
