  4. The City of Storm Lake Subdivision Ordinance requires the property owner to submit the information located in Article 3 of the Storm Lake Subdivision Ordinance and in the Subdivision Checklist, which must accompany this application before it can be considered by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council.
  5. 6 copies of the proposed plat must be submitted per the Subdivision Ordinance and 8 copies are required for subdivisions outside the corporate limits.
  6. This application must be submitted along with all supporting documents to City Hall at least 30 calendar days before the Planning and Zoning meeting.
  7. If disturbing more than an acre of land, you will need to apply for a NPDES General Permit #2 with Iowa Department of Natural Resources
  8. The request for a minor subdivision will be heard by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council at separate meetings. A minor subdivision can have simultaneous review of a preliminary and a final plat. The City of Storm Lake will notify all property owners within three hundred (300') feet of the applicant's property notifying them of the upcoming hearing. The City of storm Lake will notify the applicant of the hearing date. The City of Storm Lake will publish a public hearing notice in a locally circulated newspaper not less than 10 days and no more than 20 days prior to the meeting. A non refundable application fee of $300 is required at the time of the application. The fee will not be refunded if the request is denied by the Planning and Zoning Commission or the City Council
