DATE: November 15, 2011
The Storm Lake Police Association announces that the Annual 2012 Gloves of Love Program will begin on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
This is the 7th year that the Police Association has placed a Christmas Tree in the lobby of the Public Safety Administration Building and then invited citizens to join the members of the association in hanging children’s gloves and other items of donated clothing along with non-perishable food items on or near the tree. After collecting the donated items the Police Association will take all of the donated items to the Upper Des Moines Office to be distributed to children and families in need throughout the community.
Officer Patrick Diekman, President of the Association says, “During this Holiday Season we ask the community to join the Storm Lake Police Department Officers Association in extending the spirit of giving to those less fortunate and to those in need of support.”
Citizens are invited to stop by the lobby of the Public Safety Administration Building (police station) which is located at 401 East Milwaukee Avenue and place their donated items on or near the Christmas tree or just give them to the on-duty office staff at the facility. The lobby at the Public Safety Administration Building is open from 7:00am until 6:00pm Monday through Friday and 8:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday
The membership of the Storm Lake Police Association wishes our entire community a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.
