1. There is snow on the ground but the trails haven't been groomed, why?

In order to groom usable trails that will be of use to the cross country ski community we really need five to six inches of snow on the ground.

If we have five to six inches and the snow has just fallen skiers should note that the first priority of the Parks Department is removal of snow on the Lake Trail and at public buildings. Once that snow is removed the crews will groom the trails during normal working hours.

2. If the trails are not groomed but there is snow on the ground can we still use the golf course to ski?

Yes cross country skiers are welcome to use the golf course area to ski even when the trails are not groomed. We do ask that you stay away from and off of the greens.
