The City of Storm Lake is committed to providing safe drinking water for our customers. A cross connection is a physical link between potable (safe-to-drink) water and potentially harmful liquids or gases. Backflow occurs when water flows in the opposite direction from its intended path, either due to a drop in pressure within the supply lines or an increase in pressure on the customer’s side.
To help ensure water quality, the City of Storm Lake has established a cross-connection control-backflow prevention program to meet EPA, Iowa DNR and local plumbing codes. The city has partnered with Aqua Resource. This approach increases on-time testing, enhances compliance and reduces administrative delays. This program participation is mandatory. All backflow preventers are required to be tested annually and uploaded to Aqua Resource.
All backflow assembly testers must be registered with Aqua Resource. CLICK HERE TO LEARN HOW TO REGISTER
