[ARCHIVED] Police Asking for Community's Assistance

The Storm Lake Police Department is asking the community’s assistance in locating and apprehending a quick change artist.

On Sunday, February 12, 2012 the Storm Lake Police Department took reports of thefts at Dynos, Hy-Vee and Wal-Mart where a male suspect utilizing a short change scam also referred to as a quick change artist successfully stole an undisclosed amount of money from each store. The incident occurred around 4:00pm in the afternoon.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6’2”, stocky build. He was also described as having a scruffy beard or goatee with partial gray hair in the beard.

The suspect was driving a tan or gold colored van possibly a Chevy Venture or Oldsmobile Silhouette.
