Management at King’s Pointe Resort & Waterpark conducted a wide search for the director of sales position, but in the end they didn’t have to look too far. Northwest Iowa native and former Storm Lake United marketing and activities director, Kelli Berg, was recently hired to promote King’s Pointe, a full-service hotel and waterpark destination in Storm Lake, Iowa.
As director of sales, Berg will be responsible for promoting the resort hotel’s facilities to prospective corporate and leisure travelers, as well as, meeting and event planners, including corporate events, wedding couples and large family and group events. Berg officially joined the King’s Pointe team on January 3.
“Kelli’s ability to hit the ground running and immediately understand the unique attributes of both King’s Pointe and Storm Lake made her the right person for the director of sales role,” said Nick Edwards, general manager, King’s Pointe. “This position requires a self-starter with a lot of energy and enthusiasm and Kelli definitely delivers on those requirements.”
Berg currently serves as a Western Iowa Tourism Region Board Member and co-chair for Storm Lake events Extreme Winter Festival and Lakefest. As mentioned, she previously served as marketing and activities director for Storm Lake United for two and a half years after graduating from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. While attending SDSU, Berg served as an intern for Habitat for Humanity.
“We are fortunate to have such a fantastic asset like King’s Pointe in Western Iowa,” said Berg. “My familiarity with the market and my network from my previous role will enable me to quickly start inviting new and returning corporate and leisure guests to experience all that King’s Pointe and Storm Lake have to offer.”
