The deadline for turning in applications in the Fall/Winter 2012 round of grants is 5:00PM on Friday November 30th, 2012.
Grants can be mailed to the Foundation at P.O. Box 771, Storm Lake, Iowa 50588 or they can be dropped off at Storm Lake City Hall in Storm Lake, Iowa. Any grants not received and in hand by 5:00PM on the 30th of November 2012 will be returned and not considered in the 2012 Fall/Winter round of grants.
The Buena Vista County Community Foundation seeks to provide grant funding to local not-for-profit groups in Buena Vista County whose project will help to make Buena Vista County better in some way. Grants are given for capital projects but not for operational programing.
To assist groups and potential applicants in the filing of a grant application the Foundation will provide an optional Informational Workshop on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 5:30PM at Storm Lake City Hall (2nd Floor), 620 Erie Street, Storm Lake, Iowa.
The workshop will go over a few of the common issues that can make or break a great grant application to the foundation as well as the changes for the grant program in 2012.
The Buena Vista County Foundation’s web page at www.bvcountyfoundation.com has additional helpful resources for grant writers in the Frequently Asked Questions section of the web page.
Funds granted through the grant program must benefit Buena Vista County residents and/or organizations. Applicants must be a 501.C.3 organization or a governmental or educational organization such as a City, County, or Community School District.
In addition to their grant making side the Buena Vista County Community Foundation is a great way for individuals and families to leave a legacy for future generations. For more information contact the Buena Vista County Community Foundation.
