DATE: November 15, 2011
The Storm Lake Police Association announces that the Annual 2013 Gloves of Love Program will begin on Monday, November 25, 2013.
This is the 8th year that the Police Association has placed a Christmas Tree in the lobby of the Public Safety Administration Building and then invited citizens to join the members of the association in hanging children’s gloves and other items of donated clothing along with non-perishable food items on or near the tree. After collecting the donated items the Police Association will take all of the donated items to the Upper Des Moines Office to be distributed to children and families in need throughout the community.
Lieutenant Dave Doebel, Vice President of the Association says, “Each day in our work, we see children and families in need of assistance in our community. The members of our association are excited to once again participate in the Gloves of Love Program in an attempt to bring some joy and happiness to those in need in Storm Lake.”
Citizens are invited to stop by the lobby of the Public Safety Administration Building (police station) which is located at 401 East Milwaukee Avenue and place their donated items under or near the tree Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm.
The membership of the Storm Lake Police Association wishes our entire community a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.
