The Storm Lake Police Department, on behalf of the Albert City American Legion Post #299, is proud to announce that Asst. Chief Todd Erskine has been named The American Legion of Iowa’s 2017 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.
Asst. Chief Erskine was nominated by the Dyvad-Gustafson Post #299 in Albert City for Asst. Chief Erskine’s commitment to the profession of law enforcement and his commitment to the community of Storm Lake.
Asst. Chief Erskine will formally receive the award in July 2017 at the American Legion of Iowa’s State Convention (July 20 – 24, 2017).
In addition, Asst. Chief Erskine’s nomination has been forwarded to the national offices in Washington DC for consideration of the National American Legion Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. That selection process takes place in February of 2017.
Public Safety Director Mark Prosser says, “There isn’t a finer law enforcement professional that I know than Todd Erskine. He exemplifies the type of officer we should all strive to be. We are extremely proud of him and this well-earned award and recognition.”
