[ARCHIVED] Temperature Is Expected To Drop

City of Storm Lake

With steadily dropping temperatures in the forecast, the City of Storm Lake would like to remind motorists that roadways could turn icy and slick rapidly.  The City’s Street Division will commence and continue sanding and/or salting operations as conditions warrant.

As conditions change, a Snow Emergency will be issued by the City if necessary.  As noted in the City’s Snow and Ice Removal Manual, notification of the public is sent through a press release to the media and the City of Storm Lake web page is updated.  There is also a snow emergency number citizens can call (712-213-7669) and a WENS notification is sent out to users who have signed up to receive such notifications.  Signs are also posted at the following businesses: City Hall, Tyson Pork, Fareway, Hy-Vee, Walmart, and Bomgaars. Tyson Poultry is notified via email.

Please be attentive and exercise caution when driving.  Allow extra time to travel safely to your destination.  Thanks!Slippery Road Warning
